April Activities

School Holiday activities - 6-12 years
• Go Fish! - Tuesday Apr 10, 1.30 - 3.30 pm with the Angling club, rods supplied. 
Meet at the Lake boatshed - fishing subject to weather and lake conditions. However if wet, still meet at the boatshed for the afternoon.

• ‘Slime, goo and gunk!’ - Thursday Apr 12, 1.30-3.30 pm - we need would-be scientists and could- be chefs to make and test our slime, goo and gunk from a range of recipes - even some you can eat!

3rd - Community shed open 10 am - 4 pm for woodwork - Mon, Tues & Thurs
4th - Time for Yarn - byo knitting, crochet and yarn projects from 7.30 pm, gold coin 
- Quilting Quarters from10 am - weekly
- Aqua Exercises at Mull Pool 8 am - weekly
- Mixed Palette Art Group commences and meets fortnightly 
at 12 - Guide Hall, Lonsdale St. until further notice. 
7th - Quilt & Craft from 10 am
8th - Team 270 & Murray to Moyne to Port Fairy again
- Ham & Dist RAR - meet at 2 pm
9th - Monday craft & chat resumes from 10 am
10th - Euchre, 7.30pm + supper to share
11th - MK consultants meet 6.15 pm
12th - Hackerspace - 7.30 pm
17th - Line Dancing - Masonic Centre 9.30am
18th - Time for yarn from 7.30 pm - byo knit, crochet or yarn project 
21st - 1.30 pm - Postie Fashion Party - $5 entry includes afternoon tea& lucky number. Proceeds towards supplies for Foster children activity bags.
24th - Euchre, 7.30 pm + supper to share
25th - Closed for Anzac Day -" Lest we forget"
26th - Introduction to Auslan - 4 weekly free sessions, morning tea from 10am, session held 10.30 am-12.30 pm.
28th - HIRL Farmer and Craft Market - Children’s activities from 9am all morning
30th - Lunch day approx. 12 noon, marking the start of Neighbourhood House week 2018, CFA - presentation 1.30 pm.

Regular Activity Details

 

Art Group, every Wednesday 12 noon at the Guide Hall, Lonsdale St. $3 per person. We have paints, pastels, charcoals and some paper and some canvases but if you want to bring knitting or drawing or any form of art and craft you're working on, feel free. Everyone welcome, cuppa available and it is a small group of relaxed happy people, no teachers, no stress, but advice given if asked for. 

 

Quilting Quarters 

Enjoy a group setting and quilt at your own pace with your own project.

Wednesday 10.00am - 3.00pm

Cost $3.00 per session, some materials can be purchased

 

Saturday Quilt 'n' Craft

Wind down at the end of the week with a leisurely quilt and/or craft session. BYO projects and lunch, Beginners welcome. T/C provided.

Dates - 1st and 3rd Saturdays of the month from February through to December.

Cost $3 per session

 

Community Shed

Woodwork equipment and tools available to assist you in making a project item eg. garden seat, bookcase, chopping board etc.

Dates - Every Tuesday 10am - 3.30pm and Thursday from 1pm - 3.30pm.

Venue: Community Shed, behind HCH

Cost $2.50 per session

 

Euchre Card nights 

Fortnightly on Tuesdays at 7.30pm

Cost $3.00 per person, please bring supper to share

 

Community Volunteers

Each Tuesday morning between 10am and 12 noon, be involved in a voluntary community service for other community organisations and groups. Morning tea provided

 

Community Lunch

The Community House usually has a luncheon on the last Monday of each month. A two course meal is available for $5.00 per person.

Line dancing

Get your feet tapping and your boots scooting at our weekly line dancing classes.

Tuesday 9.30am - 12 noon except during school holidays.

Beginners and children's classes also offered.

Aqua Exercise

Enjoy the benefits of light exercise in the comfort of a heated pool. Great for those with arthritis.

Please note, classes will not proceed if there are insufficient numbers. Fees will be refunded in full if HCH cancels a course. There will be no refunds after a course has commenced.
